![]() Whether you go with Semi-Transparent Stain or Solid Stain for your deck, fence, or pergola, Pinpoint Maintenance would be happy to assist you. Check out our Instagram feed to see pictures of some of the decks we’ve been able to help! The two-toned look is also very cosmetically pleasing and has been a great way to revive a deck. Going forward, the frequently used horizontal surfaces (tops of handrails and floors) that get the most use and exposure to elements will be easier to maintain and better protected. Vertical surfaces do not get nearly as much wear and tear and are easily maintained even with a solid stain. The end result is a two-toned deck where the railings and verticals keep the solid stain, since it is nearly impossible to get solid stain off vertical surfaces, and the horizontals get a fresh coat of TWP semi-transparent stain. The results, though, can be well worth the effort and have saved some decks from total replacement. This is a more costly option as it does take aggressive sanding and machinery to get the solid stain off of the horizontal surfaces. Pinpoint Maintenance would be happy to assess your deck and see if it would be a good candidate to use our aggressive sanding process on to get the solid stain off your horizontals. The answer is YES, but only on your horizontal surfaces. If you have a solid stain on your deck, it is very difficult to go back to a semi-transparent stain since it is nearly impossible to get all the solid stain off the deck once it is on.Īre there any options if you have Solid Stain on your deck, and want to go back to a Semi-Transparent Stain?
