The day of my payment comes along and still no email, so I called to verify only to be told that it was NOT approved and had I not called I wouldn't have known! I was then informed that my account does not qualify and isn't past due therefore there was nothing that could be done and even if it was past due that it still may not qualify and there was nothing they can do. Days before payment was for I called to see my options amid the current crisis going on in our country, the lady I spoke to was very helpful stating I could skip payments until May and that a form for me to sign would be emailed. Let me start by saying the fact they are a second chance company is the only plus they have. I believe they do this on purpose to keep people in subprime categories where they can charge outrageous interest fees and lie to customers. I make very good money now, but I will not be able to get decent financing for awhile. This is a predatory company that should have their ability to loan money revoked. I am open to anyone who wants to do a class-action lawsuit. However, from reading other BBB reports, it looks like I wiki be in a ling battle. I have paid the loan off and I will be contacting them again to remove the lates. Now I have erroneous 30, 60 and 90-day lates which is SIGNIFICANTLY hurting my credit. I was in a situation where I had just gotten a divorce and desperately needed a reliable to car to transport my four children in. It is a travesty that this company is allowed to keep lending money. I did speak to Exeter which created a convoluted reason that it is the interest due to the payments being deferred, but NO OTHER auto financing company does that. If you look at my credit report you can see payments are being made but they still reported it late. They started to report my account as late to the credit bureaus regardless of still receiving monthly payments. They did not actually extend the contract at all. But when the original contract date came due they wanted all the money with the deferred payments on the final due date. I signed the paperwork and was given the much-needed help. I was told that I could have some payments moved to the back of the loan. Predatory Lending Company, SAME complaints from MANY customers. I will be sending formal complaints to their leadership team, the BBB, and any other agency they work with and tell all my contacts in my 24 years of business not to do business with Exeter Finance. I have been in the business for 24 years, and this one of the most frustrating experiences I had trying to do business with another company. Without going into more detail, our loan application was just about to go into funding with them when they turned down our application to do business with them, for reasons that were riduculous, and now we might have to have our customer return the car back to us that he bought. We set up with them in October, or we thought we did, and when we recently submitted an loan application, they had us mixed up with another dealer in another state, and we had to start the process all over again. I am review on behalf of the dealership I help run, and we were in the process of signing up with them to use them for financing. They were unprofessional, clueless and incompetent. I do not recommend doing business with Exeter Finance.
